Extra-Curricular Activities
(The following list of activities is tentative based on student interest.)
Math and English Tutorial (Sept 10-Dec10)
This is a 12 week after school tutorial program for students seeking to increase their skills in Math and English to give extra practice in algebraic topics and grammar, to enhance the established curriculum, and to prepare for standardized tests (such as SSAT). This course will be available one day a week for two hours (one hour/session for math, one hour/session for English) Students can opt to take one or both sessions (math and/or English).
Cross Country (Sept.-October)
The goal of the cross country is to introduce students to the sport of cross country and to make running and exercise an integral part of lifelong healthy lifestyles. The team attends meets throughout the season.
Lego Robotics (Oct-March)
The Robotics team will participate in a local competition only in the spring of 2007. The time will be focused on building a robot and performing tasks. This team is limited to 8 students.
Volleyball Team from October to February. Practice Starts November 28th on Wednesday anf Thursday from 4 to 6pm.
Music Ensemble: We have 8 players in our Music Ensemble which inclues 6, 7 & 8th graders. The ensemble meets every Friday from 3:30 to 5pm.
Art Club (March-May)
The Art Club meets to discuss art, art techniques, and create art projects. Cheryl Louviere will be the club advisor. (This club will meet in the 6th grade classroom.)
Literary Magazine (March-May)
This club will meet for two hours every other week. The students will produce the school literary magazine. There will be an $8 participation fee.
